Your paragraphs are good; however, there is always room for improvement. Please note the following:

• This is not a forum; therefore, the format is not that of a conversation —no hello or good-bye is necessary.
• The format here is essay-like, and it should have a title.
• Remember that the key points of the content are: “what you liked most about the book” and “what touched you about the book”, make sure your entry elaborates on those two aspects.
• Opinions and reviews of literature works are usually written in Simple Present.
• A paragraph should include more than one sentence —in general between 2 & 10 sentences.
• Always check spelling with a dictionary before you make your final posting.
• Use capital letters for proper names. (Here is a link for use of upper-case letters http://www.informatics.sussex.ac.uk/department/docs/punctuation/node27.html)
• Please make the necessary changes and post your work again if you want full mark (I will delete the first entry).
• Prepare your entry in Word and then copy/paste it in the blog. That way you can make changes easily.

True stories books...

Reading for me it’s so difficult, I prefer to spend my time watching documentaries and I frequently read some technical reports (in English and Spanish) for my work and studies…and now for my English course too.

However, I have read some books from some authors and especially from Paulo Coelho. He is a Brazilian writer who writes his books with some personal experiences and he puts some mystery and surrealism that makes his books interesting and cliffhanger. In many of his novels, he analyses the human behavior and how is the love between them. Especially in “El Peregrino de Compostela”, he shows the interior human wealth to share his personal experience in a journey to the Compostela path few years ago. I like this kind of reading, because it joins true stories with fiction, and particularly this book describes some real places located between Spain and France.

Hi Teacher

About my favorite book…

I enjoy so much reading about plastic artists´s lives and theirs works. Long time ago, I read a very exciting autobiographic novel about Miguel Angel Buonarotti´ s life and his artistic production. It´s called “Agonía y Éxtasis”. It was a bestseller in the eighties. This story taked place in Italy. It was written by Irving Stone. I like this story because the author made a wonderful relation between Miguel Angel´s paintings, sculptures and Florence´s places and his most important emotions, fillings and opinions about people, the catholic religion and the politic. I couldn´t put it down. Reading this book, I learned to appreciate Italy´s art history and to love Florence and its museums and art galleries.

This book is about a man with a especial ability: He could smell anything and identify its components, and this ability led him to kill women to remove their odor.
This book was a bestseller, and I recommend it, it’s a real page –turner

José Mauro De Vasconcelos who is a Brasilian .

Is the story of his childhood.
He was full of mischief and his relationship with his parents, brothers, grandparents and

Currently, I am reading a book titlled “El Niño Feliz, su clave Psicológica”, written by Dorothy Corkille Briggs. This is an excellent self-help book that tries to help parents to make their kids feel happy with themselves, and they become emotionally healthy adults. The clue, according to the author, is the kids develop a high level of self-esteem, avoiding the vanity. Adult people look like a mirror to the kids. Therefore, their behavior has to allow the kids to feel themselves sure, loved, and respected.

I highly recommend this book; every one should read it although hasn’t any child. Any time, we could treat with kids, and that should be a conscious acting.

Following with the comments about the book “El Niño Feliz, su Clave Psicológica”...

The book not only represents a tool for parents, it is also for oneself. People can, through the reading, realize about their own difficulties. In the same way, parents also realize how they transfer their own problems or fears to their children because they generally try their kids like they were treated or like they would like to have been treated. Also, adult people affect the kids with their words; but, more than that, their corporal language frequently is not according to their words, and even they try to use appropriate words, the corporal language (the most important one) is giving the kids a contradictory message.

The above mentioned is an example of some of the many mistakes that we, as adult people, can incur. Fortunately, the author of this book gives us some tips to recognize and improve the way that we manage the different situation in our relationship with the kids, even to improve the way how we see ourselves.

Giving the right treatment to kids, respecting them, giving them security on themselves, showing them with facts our real love, make them feel themselves worthy, we can achieve to have happy kids, and guarantee they have more probabilities to become emotional healthy adults.

I am really enjoying and taking advantage of this book, and I am happy because although I'm not perfect, and there are many things that I should still improve, I consider myself to be doing a good job with my kids.

I am sure that I am going to read this book, at least, once again.
I am going to read it aloud to my cousin. She is going to have a baby girl. !!! :-)

When I was a teenager, I used to read about science fiction, particularly “Julio Verne”. I specially remember a book called “ 20.000 Leguas de Viaje Submarino” . The author wrote about future inventions before they happened. In this novel Julio Verne wrote about an adventure who took place in the sea, aboard a submarine ship.

The novel has four characters: a French Professor, named Pierre Aronox, a marine biologist; Ned Land, a Canadian harpooner; Consejo, Professor Pierre´s assistant and Captain Nemo.
In this book, the author tells the story about professor Pierre and Consejo. When they were traveling in an American warship commanded by Admiral Farragut, suddenly they fell into the sea, they saved their lives after swimming for days. They were surprised when they saw that and island was not real, it was a metallic structure floating on the sea. This structure was a kind of boat, called Nautilus, driven by Captain Nemo.
They started a trip around the world and they saw many beautiful places, like “Atlántida” and the South Pole, then they escaped from the Nautilus to France and told everybody the story about their submarine adventure in a submarine machine -El Nautilus-.

Activity 2, Unit 7 My favorite book
GONZÁLEZ, TRINA

Reading is one of the most pleasurable activity, I like reading, but sometimes I don’t have enough time to read, at least to curling up with a book. However, Iast year I read the OPRAH WINFREY: A BIOGRAPHY. Author: HELEN S. GARSON. A friend borrowed me the book, which is written in English.

I liked this book so much, because it is a real life story and tells how this girl who was born in poor conditions, and who had to live a miserably childhood, to finally go to live with her father, who helped her because she always believed that education is the door to freedom, now is famous person with her OPRAH WINFREY SHOW, which she has been established as one of the most respected and admired public figures in United States.

She is owner of O, The Oprah Magazine, a magazine that has become one of today's leading women's lifestyle publications, one of the most successful magazine launch in recent history.
OPRAH made her acting debut in 1985 as "Sofia" in Steven Spielberg's movie The Colour Purple, for which she received both Academy Award and Golden Globe nominations. I saw this movie and I really liked it.

Now, she has a website too, Oprah.com, a women's website, where she offers advice on everything from the mind, body and spirit to food, home and relationships, and, she founded The Oprah Winfrey Foundation, to award hundreds of grants to organizations that support the education and empowerment of women, children and families around the world, through she has donated millions of dollars toward providing a better education for students who have merit but no means.

I learned to admire this brave woman reading her interesting biography.
